LAS
VEGAS (July 21, 2004) – More than 300 gaming and marketing
executives from 30 states, four Canadian provinces, Puerto Rico,
Austria, Malaysia and South Africa will gather next week at the
inaugural “Casino Marketing 2004: The National Conference,”
July 25-27, 2004, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las
Vegas, where they will learn from the industry’s elite, and
will share with one another the secrets of marketing success.
The
two-plus days of conference sessions include a pair of seminars
titled “Gaming Across North America: Regional Marketing
Reports.” Gaming leaders representing 15 different gaming
jurisdictions will share with attendees what works and what
doesn’t in their respective markets.
The
July 26 Regional Marketing Report will feature presentations on the
Las Vegas Strip, Racinos, Class II, the Midwest, California, the
Northeast and the Southwest. The July 27 Regional Marketing Report
will feature presentations on the Las Vegas Locals Market, Northern
Nevada, the South, Canada, Detroit, Colorado and the Northwest.
“While
it's called 'The National Conference,' it is clear that the
topic of casino marketing has international appeal. It is
obvious to me that the overwhelming
response to this inaugural marketing 'gathering of gurus'
indicates we are filling a critical need in the gaming
industry,” says Dennis Conrad, Raving
Consulting president and conference coordinator.
In
other sessions, several marketing executives from Harrah's will
share their company’s marketing success formula in an open and
frank discussion with a moderator who will delve into some of the
details that helped to make Harrah’s a market leader; and
representatives from corporate leaders Station Casinos, Isle of
Capri, Boyd Gaming and Pinnacle Entertainment will share the unique
insights, opportunities and sometimes disadvantages of being big.
In
a fitting kick-off to the first full day of the conference,
professionals from throughout the industry will gather for breakfast
the morning of July 26 to pay tribute to marketing guru John
Romero, who is being honored with the inaugural Casino Marketing
Lifetime Achievement Award.
“Casino
Marketing 2004: The National Conference” is co-produced by Raving
Consulting and Ascend Media Gaming Group, with the support of
Signature Sponsor IGT and Acres Gaming. It will address specific
marketing issues facing casino operators in national and regional
gaming markets. This marks the second partnership between Reno-based
Raving Consulting and Ascend Media Gaming Group, the gaming
industry’s business-to-business media leader. The two teamed up in
February to present the successful Northern Nevada Gaming Summit in
Reno.
